This labor had a strong influence in the town and in developing the local economy, which until then depended exclusively on the fishing activity.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring several touristic points, like the bullfighting arena, the Casa Mora garden, the Ribeira de Canha palace and the Esteval\u2019s Windmill, Montijo is also proud of its local residential and religious glazed tiles. In the western area, the riverfront stands out, with its privileged view over Lisbon and the Tagus River, and its rich and diverse bird life.
